Terms of service

These are the rules for using Kanduck. We've kept them short and in plain language. By using Kanduck you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Who we are

Kanduck (formerly called Duckling) is run by KMF Ventures ("we", "us"). Questions: privacy@kanduck.com. How we handle your data is in our privacy policy.

Using Kanduck

You must be at least 13 to use Kanduck, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. Kanduck is free. We may add, change or remove features, and we set limits, such as how many boards you can have and how many AI requests you can make per day.

Your boards and your key

Without an account, your boards are protected by a secret key kept in your browser. Anyone who has that key, or a link to your boards, can open and change them, so keep it private. If you lose it and haven't saved your boards to an account, we can't recover them. Saving to an account with Google, a passkey or an email link is the safe option. You are responsible for what happens under your key or account.

Your content

What you put in Kanduck is yours. You give us permission to store it, copy it between our systems, show it to the people you share it with, and send it to the AI and integration services you choose to use, only so we can run the service for you. You confirm you have the right to put it there.

Don't

• Break the law, or use Kanduck for anything harmful, abusive, harassing or deceptive.
• Upload malware, or try to break into, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service.
• Get around rate limits, daily AI limits or other safeguards.
• Store other people's sensitive personal data without the right to, or use Kanduck to send spam.
• Use the AI features to produce content that is illegal or designed to hurt people.

If you do, we may remove content, limit your access or close your account.

AI features

Dilly and the other AI features can be wrong, and can change your boards when you ask them to. Check what they do before you rely on it, and don't use them for medical, legal or financial decisions. Connecting an outside AI tool through your agent link gives that tool the same access to your boards that you have.

Other services

Google Drive, Telegram, sign-in with Google and any AI service you connect have their own terms and privacy rules. Using them through Kanduck means you accept those too.

Sharing

You decide who sees a board. A share link lets whoever holds it open and edit that board, and anyone you invite by email gets access until you remove them. We aren't responsible for what the people you share with do.

Ending things

You can stop using Kanduck at any time and delete your boards. To close your account, email us and we'll remove it as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or put the service at risk, and we may shut the service down, in which case we'll try to give you notice and time to export your boards.

No guarantees

Kanduck is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running and your boards safe, but we don't promise it will always be available, error-free or never lose data, so keep a copy of anything you can't afford to lose. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, lost profits, or anything outside our reasonable control. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months (which for a free service is nothing) and US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, and then they apply only as far as the law permits.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. If the change matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use Kanduck afterwards means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where KMF Ventures is organized, and any dispute will be handled in the courts there, except where your local law gives you rights that can't be waived.
